The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Volume 1

When to read: Just my opinion, after the Fantasyland books.

About: 2 stories, Charmed Life, and The Lives of Christopher Chant.
Charmed Life is about a boy named Cat and his sister Gwendolen. They are orphans, and a mysterious sorcerer who was a friend of their father's comes to adopt them. Gwendolen's very magical, but Cat isn't. So Gwen is sometimes snobby. The book has many surprising, (believe me, I was extremely surprised, I usually always guess what will happen), twists and turns, and has a wooonderful ending.
The Lives of Christopher Chant are about a boy named Christopher Chant whose parents are very social and who haven't got much time for him. Starting when he was very young, Chris had "dreams" of visiting other worlds. But when he tells his Uncle Ralph about them, he starts sending him on errands. Soon Chris finds out he's really traveling to different worlds. Which only Chrestomanci's can do. Will he be the next Chrestomanci??? I thought this book was really interesting, especially after the different worlds mentioned in Charmed Life.
